Jon Markovic talks about a number of the factors that inspired him to create HeartWorkVideo and Photographic Memories..

“Starting out in the mid 1970’s with a Russian made rip-off of a Leica camera that weighed several kilos, and a Black ‘n White darkroom in the attic, the world of photographic images has been my passion since boyhood.

Much has changed since the days of “Watch the Dickie Bird” and the expensive novelty of disappointing colour prints from the chemists in 10-14 days..

The digital era has opened endless possibilities, and I started Photographic Memories to make services available to people with old materials in need of some TLC, or needing assistance with any photography-related matters.

So after almost thirty years of working in industry, I decided to trust a small but insistent inner voice telling me to do what I love, and started up Photographic Memories,  creating movies on DVD that celebrate life and family histories and special events.

The materials that make up these video presentations consists of both newly recorded photography, video and audio (in the form of interviews, voice-over commentary etc.) and also the restoration of clients’ old and damaged photos slides, negatives and video footage from days gone by.

I love working one-to-one with people, and feel very privileged to be able to share their memories and histories, and to be entrusted with the creation of memoirs of such sensitivity and importance.

I am very proud of the work that Photographic Memories produces, and of the delight that these videos generate.

Through HeartWorkVideo (who offer services to businesses) and Photographic Memories, I take great care to listen to my clients talking about their needs, and in developing original video and photographic solutions to meet those needs. The HeartWork brand name is intended to communicate the pleasure that these businesses hope to create.

These are small independent businesses, focusing on quality of product and service, and I aim to keep things that way. I expect to undertake most commissions personally, but am able to call on a small network of talented associates and colleagues who are available to support on complex or larger scale commissions and with specialist skills as/when needed.

Our service offering is personal and client focused, and intends to offer the highest quality of support, service and product.

So whether your interest is in commissioning a DVD to keep the grandparents in touch with the younger generation or to celebrate a landmark birthday, or simply to repair a treasured old photo that has seen better days, please do feel free to contact me for an obligation-free chat in your home or by Skype or telephone.

I very much look forward to hearing from you.
